Modern Kitchen Makeover in Oklahoma City: From Outdated and Cramped to Open and Elevated

Modern Kitchen Makeover in Oklahoma City: From Outdated and Cramped to Open and Elevated

When our Oklahoma City clients reached out about updating their kitchen, they were clear: the space no longer fit their lifestyle. The original kitchen was closed off, outdated, and lacking in both functionality and flow. It wasn’t ideal for a growing family or for the way they loved to entertain guests.

Before: A Dark, Dated, and Inefficient Layout

As you can see in the before photo, the kitchen was filled with heavy wood cabinetry, a small island, and limited counter space. The layout felt boxed in by surrounding walls, making it difficult to move freely—especially with more than one person in the space. Outdated appliances, granite countertops, and dim lighting added to the overall feel of a kitchen that had seen better days.

After: Bright, Open, and Built for Real Life

Our team at DFP completely reimagined the space from the ground up. We removed walls to open up the layout, creating better sightlines and a more connected flow between the kitchen and surrounding living areas. This change alone made a huge impact—turning a once-cramped kitchen into a spacious and inviting area perfect for everyday life and weekend hosting.
